SERVPRO of Patchogue is always looking forward to those summer months where the weather gets warmer and the community starts to enjoy our town for all that it is worth. One of the best things to do during the summer is to participate in Patchogue's Alive After 5, brought to you by the Patchogue Chamber of Commerce.
Patchogue's After 5 is a free summer street fair with six stages of live music and entertainment, more than 90 craft & retail vendors, 11 food trucks, children's activities and amusements, a Chinese auction and much more!
As a local vendor in Patchogue, SERVPRO awaits the chance to be a sponsor/participant in the street fair and connect with the local community on a deeper level. We have a great time with the local patrons of Patchogue, whether it be answering questions they might have about their homes or our service to handing out SERVPRO balloons and putting temporary SERVPRO tattoos on the children running around in the streets. It is always a great time for all!

Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEAs) are free notifications delivered to your mobile devices as part of a public safety system provided by authorized government-alerting authorities. The alerts are designed to inform you of imminent threats to safety or missing persons alerts in your area (e.g., AMBER Alerts). Government partners include local and state public safety agencies, FEMA, the FCC, the Department of Homeland Security, and the National Weather Service. A WEA can be sent to your mobile device when you maybe in harms way, without downloading an app or subscribing to a service. WEAs may be used to share extreme weather warnings, local emergencies requiring evacuation or immediate action, AMBER Alerts, and Presidential Alerts during national emergency.
A WEA will look like a text message. The WEA message will typically show the type and time of the alert, any action you should take, and the agency issuing the alert. The message will be no more than 90 characters. Visit www.ctia.org/wea to learn more about Wireless Emergency Alerts.

We would like to thank all that participated in our 2nd Annual Country Night for the Troops fundraising event. We are very proud of the dedication of our SERVPRO team and the generosity of all the sponsors, local businesses and friends in making this such a great success. Whether it was a gift card, basket or monetary donation, ever item helped make this fundraiser a success. The response was truly overwhelming and we could not have done this without this support!
Our goal was to raise $15,000.00 for the troops and we exceeded this goal! A grand total of $20,000.00 was raised! This donation allows the USO to continue to provide programs that support active duty military, their families, wounded, troops in transition, and families of the fallen. We are very grateful for the men and women that serve our country and fight for our freedom every day. Thank you everyone for joining us in our efforts in letting them know how much we appreciate them!

A favorite yearly tradition of ours, gathering friends and employees to join us in being a part of the Christmas Parade on Main St. in Patchogue. This event is a great way to show our support for the town of Patchogue and is also a time to connect with the community. Hundreds of people come out to see all the floats that local vendors and businesses have put together with their staff. People, especially the youngsters, have come to look forward to seeing our Large Loss Army truck decorated with festive green lights and Christmas music playing filling the street with holiday cheer!
The weather was perfect this year, the street was lined four deep with smiling people, just a perfect way to kick off the holiday season!

One of the best times that SERVPRO of Patchogue has is when we participate in Patchogue's Annual Christmas Parade on Main Street. This event is a great way to show our support for the great town of Patchogue and is also a time to connect with the community. Hundreds of people come out to see all the floats that local vendors and businesses have put together with their staff. Children are encouraged to bring their letters to Santa Claus, and families can also write a separate letter wishing holiday greetings to servicemen and women. This year we decided to decorate our Army truck that we use when handling large commercial losses. We decorated the truck with SERVPRO green Christmas lights and had Christmas music blasting from huge speakers that filled the streets with holiday cheer. Our employees and their families stood in the back of the truck waving to all who came out to see the parade. This event is always a great way to spend time in the town we love with the people we hold most dear to our hearts! We have already started to think of bigger and better ways we can make the 55th Annual Christmas Parade the best it can be for all the patrons of Patchogue who gather every year to watch this event.

Fun while learning about fire safety
October 8th thru the 14th is Fire Prevention Week. It is the perfect time to review and make an exit plan.
"Every second counts: Plan 2 ways out!”
*Draw a map of your home and/or business and mark two exits from each room and a path outside from each exit.
*Practice your fire drill twice a year. Conduct one at night and one during the day. Practice using different ways out each time.
*Teach children how to escape on their own in case an adult cannot help them.
*Make sure the number of your home and/or business is clearly marked and easy for the fire department to find.
*Close doors behind you as you leave – this may slow the spread of smoke, heat, and fire.
*Once you get outside, stay outside! Never go back inside a burning building.

Congratulations!
It is with great pride that SERVPRO of Patchogue accepts this certificate in showing our support of the Civil Air Patrol. This is a terrific federally supported non-profit corporation that serves as the official civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force. It’s 3 key missions are emergency services, disaster relief operations and aerospace education for youth and the general public. Thank you to this organization for all you do in helping to support our communities in our great country! It is wonderful to see today's youth involved and dedicated to such a program.
As an added source of pride our own Laura's son, Zachary, at 16 years old is an Airman Cadet with high aspirations and we are so proud of him! Yay Zac! Thank you for all your community service, keep up the awesome work!

On April 1st, 2017 we hosted our first fundraiser for the United States Troops, and it was a huge success. We partnered with the USO in order to achieve the maximum amount of money possible.
For over 75 years, the USO has been the nation’s leading organization to serve the men and women in the U.S. military and their families, throughout their time in uniform. From the moment they join, throughout their assignments and deployments, and as they transition back into their communities, the USO is always by their side. The USO strengthens America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation. The USO is not part of the federal government. As a congressionally chartered, privately run organization, the USO relies on the generosity of individuals, organizations and corporations to support its activities, and is powered by a family of volunteers to accomplish their mission of connection.
We raised over $10,000 for the United States troops and we had a great time doing it. We are anxiously looking forward to hosting our second fundraiser in 2018!
