Water Damage in Brookhaven Home Requires Extensive Controlled Demolition
The unfortunate side of water damage in Brookhaven properties is that the longer the time between the event and the cleanup, the potential for more loss to the structure and contents. The water came through the ceiling and migrated down the walls leaving paint bubbles and areas where the sheetrock pulled away as seen in the Before Photo. Because of the excessive buckling and warping of the building materials, SERVPRO technicians needed to remove the sheetrock down to the framework and hardwood floorboards for a complete restoration on the property. Before rebuilding takes place, the techs commonly treat the wood frame with a paint-on antimicrobial sealant to ensure mold does not become an issue after the fact.
